Chapter 1:
An Uncomfortable Situation

Chell let out an inaudible groan, as she sat up, rubbing her head. The last thing she remembered was a knock at her door.   Then two men rushing her, grabbing her, pulling something over her mouth and nose.
Chell looked around, she was inside a van of some sort. Her arms tightly bound by strange metal braces that slithered up both of her arms, and was connected magnetically.
She looked around, there had to be something she could use, but no, the van was spotless. Chell could hear the driver's talking, she could make out that they were talking about Aperture Science.
Aperture Science? Chell had escaped...or rather, had been released from her bondage there almost 10 years ago. She'd grown a whole new life for herself, now these men threatened to take it all away.
As she began to formulate a plan of escape, the doors to the van opened, was greeted by two shady men dressed in black. Chell tried to run, but was easily overpowered by the two men. She struggled as they dragged her out of the van and walked her to a much larger mobile facility, a flying one!
Try as she might, Chell just couldn't muscle away from her captors. They took her into the flying machine and walked her down the halls. Chell looked around in amazement the walls the doors, everything used the same technology as Aperture Science.
She noticed they passed by the windows of a large lab. Chell noticed a huge crown like device inside. It glowed an almost evil green.
'That can not be good...' Chell gulped. She turned just in time to see herself get thrown into a cell. Chell spun around standing up, but the door simply slammed in her face.
The men walked away with out another word. Chell gritted her teeth, that's it, she was breaking out. She survived GLaDOS and the Aperture facility, no way did these "Men in Black" scare her.
Chell reached through the bars at a small discarded paperclip. Her fingers wagging relentlessly as they tried to reach for the clip. She angled herself uncomfortably, kicking the clip through the bars with a flick of her fingernail.
An easy clichéd escape, but it'll work. Chell picked a small lock hole on her binders, and eventually they fell off in a loud clunk. Then she turned her attention to the door. Once the door opened and she slunk out, carefully, but quickly navigated the long hallways of many doors. Her heart jumped every five minutes whenever an agent grew close. She hid in a seemingly empty lab as one walked down the hall.
Once he was gone, Chell turned around, and out of the corner of her eye noticing something on the table...something familiar. She had to do a double take to realize that it was Wheatley sitting idle on a lab desk.
'WHEATLEY!!!' Chell ran over, her friend, and betrayer was sitting almost disassembled on the table before her. She wasted no time beginning to put her friend back together.
It would be a surprise to her 10 years ago if she realized she had found her place in human society was as a lead technician in a small aspiring science research facility. For about three years, Chell wouldn't go near science, but she soon realized that even she had a natural curiosity for the unknown.
Chell plugged in a few wires, and snapped Wheatley's eye back into place. This seemed to force a reboot, Wheatley's body let out a mechanical hum, as his gears began turning.
His familiar blue eye lit up, then blinked a few times as his robotic eye focused in on Chell. "Bloody hell! That hurt! Oh! It's you! Buddy!" His voice was as friendly as ever. "Say...where are we?"  Wheatley looked around. "Aperture?" Then he spun around looking at Chell. "Oh my god..." The memories of his betrayal of Chell flashed before him. He looked at Chell in a different light, his voice somber. "I...I know you don't have to believe me...and I wouldn't blame you if you didn't...I mean...I've been a terrible monster...but I am sincerely...deeply sorry..."
Chell smiled, she'd forgiven Wheatley years ago, but it was nice to know Wheatley had felt remorse for what he'd done. She gave Wheatley a gentle hug, who seemed to revel in it.
"Can you ever forgive me?" Wheatley asked, the edges of his core rusted over. Chell nodded, with a smile. Wheatley small robotic heart overflowed, his eye glowing with brilliance. "Thank you...Chell." He thought for a moment then asked. "So how mad is SHE anyway?"
'GLaDOS?'  Chell blinked, did Wheatley know how much time had past? Chell noticed a white board and some markers. She took the marker and wrote on the board: Wheatley, do you know how many years it's been?
"Years?" Wheatley's voice heightened with fear, "What do you mean years? It's only been a month or so-"
No it hasn't. Chell interrupted his ranting with her written words. They came out, like the tears forming in her eyes. It's been 10 years.
It broke Chell's heart as she heard Wheatley let out a scream, "WHAT!? No no no no no no no! It can't be! I remember like it was yesterday!"

You need to RELAX! Chell quickly wrote, Or they'll surely hear us!
"Who will hear us?" Wheatley asked, "I hope it's not HER."
Right now, I wish it was... Chell answered, then as she heard more footsteps approaching, she grabbed Wheatley and ducked behind a desk.
"What are you-WHOA!" Wheatley let out a cry. Chell gestured a hush at Wheatley, who stared for a long moment then got it.              "Oh! You want me to be quiet. I get it! Like a ninja, right. Deadly silence!" Chell hushed him again. "Oh, right, right, silence! Got it!"
Chell bit her lip in worry, she sweated as she heard the two agents walked in. She saw a man, in the black suit that all the others were in. He had jet-black hair, and some stubble on his chin.
"So, what are we going to do with the girl?" the man asked his companion.
"What's she to you, Jake? Who cares?" the other man answered.
"I don't think it's right to just kidnap some poor woman, lunatic or not." Jake interjected.
"Don't like the job, there's the door," the other man scoffed. "Of course, the Boss probably wouldn't want his secrets getting out."
"Shut up, Stevens," Jake rolled his eyes then noticed Chell out of the corner of his eye. Their eyes met, Chell shivered in fear.
   "What is it?" Stevens asked.
"Nothing go on ahead, I'll catch up," Jake answered, then as soon as Stevens was out of sight Jacob turned to Chell. "Found a way out of you're cell, huh?"
Chell backed up a bit her back pressed against the metal of the desk. Wheatley pleaded, "Uh...no, no we're not escaping, why would you think we're escaping? Escape?" He chuckled nervously, "What? We LOVE it here in...quickly-" He turned to Chell,      "Where are we?"
"You fixed it?" Jacob looked at Wheatley, he'd seen the little ball brought in so many years ago; damaged by a piece of space debris.
Chell, took in a deep breath, and stubbornly stood up. She walked over to the white board and wrote: Let us go
"Wish I could, but what ever the crazy millionaire boss wants, the crazy millionaire boss gets." Jacob answered.
Chell who had a glimmer of hope in her eye could hear her hope dash as Jacob took a threatening step forward. Chell looked to the door.
"Don't you dare," Jacob noticed that glance, but was too late before Chell made a mad dash for the door. Jake chased her, but was surprised how incredibly swift this strange woman was.
"Run! Run! RUN!" Wheatley shouted. Chell zipped around a corner, gripping Wheatley tight. "Is he gone?" Wheatley looked over Chell's shoulder, just as Jacob turned the corner after her. "That's a big, fat, bloody no!"
Chell was too scared to turn around when she started hearing more footsteps join Jacob's. She turned another corner only to find a dead end. When Chell spun around, she'd seen that Jacob had cut off her only exit.
"Oh no! Not good!" Wheatley cried out. Then as more men approached he shouted. "Oh not good! We're in trouble! We're in big trouble now!" He looked at Chell, "Quick! Act Natural!" Then he acted as if he just noticed the mob. "Oh! Hello Mates! Fancy a nice stroll down the hall and all? Very Refreshing."
"You sure have a talkative friend there," Jacob looked at Wheatley.
"Talkative? I don't know what you're talking about, I'm one of the shyest people I know!" Wheatley argued. "Except for maybe my little friend here, but she's not talkative because she's got a bit of brain damage." He whispered a bit, "Don't mention it too much in front of her, its a bit degrading, you know, being brain damaged and all that. Although she may not even understand what any of this means, it's a bit sad you know. But on the other hand she is an excellent jumper."
Chell rolled her eyes, then looked at the growing number of eyes staring at her. Then a sudden voice over the loudspeaker sounded. "Detain the prisoner, and bring her to my office."
'What now?' Chell thought to herself.
I don\'t think I said this in my Prolouge, but this event takes place 10 years after Portal 2

Chapter 1: An Unpleasant Situation

Chapter 1 of my first portal fan fic, I hope you like it. The return of Wheatley, GLaDOS is coming soon. What does this mad man have in store for Chell, keep reading and find out!

I\'m keeping Chell mute, so you hear her thoughts once in a while, and if there\'s a writing tool nearby, she\'ll use that, but beside that. No talking Chell, I\'m sorry.

I hope you enjoy this

Oh Wheatley... (faceplam) anyway, I like fanfictions where Chell is mute. It fits better if you ask me.
